ENMU Presents MSU with $5,000 Check to Establish Memorial Scholarship Fund for Robert Grays

Portales, NM (11/17/2017) — Eastern New Mexico University President Jeff Elwell presented Kyle Williams, the athletic director from Midwestern State University, a $5,000 check in memory of Robert Grays, a Lone Star Conference athlete, on Nov. 11.

Grays was a 19-year-old sophomore at Midwestern State University who was tragically injured during a Sept. 16 football game against Texas A&M-Kingsville and passed away a few days later.

ENMU started a campaign to honor the fallen athlete, led by Elwell and the ENMU Foundation. These funds were donated by students, faculty, staff and community members and were matched by the ENMU Foundation to establish a scholarship fund in Robert Grays' memory.
